Nintendo shall rise again. The Proof? The LEGO Brick Wiimote!

I’m trying not to be the total whore for useless accessories pitched at me by game companies like I used to be, but every once in a while something so kickass comes along that at first glance, I know it shall be mine. This is one of those items: the LEGO Brick Wiimote.

From IGN.com:

In the realm of Wii remotes, variation is pretty limited. While you can find Wiimote alternatives from companies like Nyko, PDP, and Mad Catz, most generally stick to the general design style of the original. A new product from LEGO, however, aims to allow players to customize their controller with interchangeable LEGO blocks. Yes, you read that right, LEGOs.

A fully functional Wii remote, the Lego Play and Build remote incorporates the full range of buttons and motion tracking technologies, but uses custom casing that allows users to personalize their controller. It comes with two interchangeable battery covers and 31 mini LEGO tiles. It is fully compatible with Wii MotionPlus, and includes an internal speaker and rumble effects.

The LEGO Play and Build Remote will be available later this week for $39.99, exclusively at Toys R Us.
